Traditional Mortice Locks are old-fashioned skeleton key locks that are available in 3 lever or 5 lever variants. For internal use, you will want 3 levers & for external use, you will want 5 levers for high security. You may be looking for modern Euro Mortice Locks instead (characterised by use of a lock cylinder & small contemporary keys).

 

Generally, all our mortice locks come with two keys included with each quantity of lock. For multiple quantities, we will have your order keyed alike by standard - otherwise, please specify in the checkout if you would like your locks keyed to differ from one another (e.g. for a separate granny flat or such).

We recommend Jacksons Locks for our mortice locks; Australian-made and the best in quality & reliability. For retrofitting; a backset measurement refers to the distance from the edge of the door to the centre of the door handle - 60mm is standard in Australia, but generally 45mm backset mortice locks are also available. We additionally offer a hard-to-find 30mm backset mortice lock for narrow french doors and alike. For rebated double doors, you will need to purchase a rebated variant rather than a standard lock.
